With congestion on Brisbane roads getting worse, many are swapping the car for the bike and embarking on one of the many commuter rides to get to work each day.
To make planning your route easier, we explore the best ways to get to the Brisbane CBD from each side of the city in this blog series.
For those on the north side, there are a few ways to get to the city centre, with some new bikeways currently under construction…
North Brisbane Bikeway
Coming to the city centre from Aspley, Chermside, Kedron, Lutwyche, or Wooloowin is scheduled to be a whole lot easier ride with the northside bikeway construction upgrade well underway.
The stages from Albion to the city have been completed and construction has started to link Wooloowin.
For the moment, you can use the established bikeway that runs from Windsor Park toward Victoria Park and Roma Street Parklands, ending in the city.
Ashgrove to Herston
For those in the north-eastern suburbs, you can use the Ithaca Creek and Enoggera Creek Bikeways.
This cycle path connects Ashgrove, Red Hill and Newmarket.
From here you’ll link up with the North Brisbane Bikeway where you can cruise on to your destination.
